The Silent Mile is a community group that crosses boundaries of ethnicity, class, gender, ability, sexuality, and religion. We are not anti-police. We are pro-accountability. We are anti-violence. We are pro-action. We are anti- division. We are pro-intersectionality.
Join The Silent Mile to reclaim the humanity of those senselessly lost as you march in honor of one of the 135 African-American people we lost in 2016 ALONE. Follow the Facebook Group Page: The Silent Mile group and event page: The Silent Mile NFK event for updates. More details and info will be distributed Monday July 11th, 2016.
It’s time to take action against extrajudicial violence that targets African Americans and violates their 14th Amendment right to due process and equal protection under the law. I believe being black in America is not punishable by death. Please use your voice and platform to raise the concerns of the community and walk with us on the Silent Mile.
